Preparing for a Flawless Application

Before you embark on your classic eyelash extension journey, it's crucial to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for your client. Follow these essential steps to create the perfect foundation for a successful lash set:

  • Cleanliness is Key: Begin by emphasizing the importance of clean hands and sanitized tools, tweezers and workspace. This promotes hygiene and reduces the risk of infections or irritations.

  • Client Comfort: Ensure your client is at ease by making sure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process. Prioritize their needs and address any concerns they may have.

  • Lash Selection: Choose the appropriate length and thickness of lashes that suit your client's desired look while considering their natural lash condition and eye shape. Consult with the client about their desired look and expectations. This attention to detail ensures optimal results.

  • Lash Preparation: Thoroughly cleanse the client's natural lashes using a Lash Cleanser or a gentle oil-free cleanser. This step removes any debris or oils that could hinder the adhesive bond.

Step-by-Step Application Technique

Now that the groundwork is laid, let's delve into the intricacies of applying classic eyelash extensions. Follow these steps to achieve a flawless, long-lasting set:

  1. Applying Under Eye Pads: With caution and precision, gently secure under eye pads to protect the lower lashes. Ensure the pads are positioned just below the waterline, avoiding any contact with the eye or waterline area.

  2. Priming the Lashes: Using a minimal amount of Primer, thoroughly coat each natural lash near the base where extensions are applied. Be sure to cover the top, bottom, and spaces in between, as this primes the lashes for optimal adhesion.

  3. Lash Mapping: Customize the lash design based on your client's preferences and eye shape. In the video tutorial, we opt for an open-eye lash map, which creates a lifted and awakened look. Section off the lashes accordingly, considering the natural growth pattern and desired outcome. Download our free Lash Mapping Guide

  4. Isolation Technique: Using Precision Tweezers, isolate one natural lash at a time to prevent lashes from sticking together. Make sure you are isolating 1 single lash, and there are no baby lashes hidden behind.

  5. Extension Placement: Carefully pick up an extension using a second lash tweezer, dip it into the middle of your lash glue drop and slowly remove. Make sure your glue drop is fresh. The extension should go about 1.5-2mm into the glue drop.  Next, place the extension directly on top of the isolated natural lash. Maintain a distance of approximately 0.5 to 1 millimeter from the eyelid, avoiding contact with neighbouring lashes. Repeat this process for each isolated lash, ensuring even coverage between both eyes. Only apply lash extensions to healthy, strong natural lashes. Damaged lashes, or baby lashes may not be strong enough to support an extension.

  6. Perfecting the Bond: Pay attention to the angle at which you hold the tweezers to mimic the natural lash's curvature. This ensures a secure bond and a seamless blend between the natural lash and extension. Make sure the base of the extension is flush with the natural lash. Make any necessary adjustments to achieve the desired lash placement.

  7. Checking for Stickies: Once all the lash extensions have been applied, use the back end of your tweezers to confirm that no lashes are stuck to the under eye pads. File through the lashes with both sets of tweezers to confirm that none are stuck together. Utilize a lash mirror to double-check for any crisscrossed lashes and gently separate them if necessary.

Aftercare and Finishing Touches

To complete the lash extension process, follow these essential steps to enhance retention and ensure client satisfaction:

  1. Drying and Combing: Thoroughly dry the lashes to allow the adhesive to set. Use a clean, disposable mascara wand to gently comb through the lashes, ensuring there is no tangling or pulling.

  2. Applying Super Bonder: To enhance retention and address fumes, flexibility, and durability, apply a small amount of Super Bonder to the bonding point of each lash. This step further strengthens the adhesive bond.

  3. Final Check and Clean-Up: Perform a final inspection to ensure the lashes are symmetrical, well-separated, and free from any adhesive residue. Take your time to make any necessary adjustments or touch-ups.

  4. Removal of Under Eye Pads: After ensuring the adhesive is fully dried, delicately remove the under eye pads. Pay attention to the client's comfort throughout this process.

Conclusion
