The best eyelash extension glue is going to be one that matches your lashing speed, and the climate you live in. There are a lot of things to keep in mind when picking a professional eyelash extension glue, so check out this article to learn more.
If you’re a new lash technician, you’ll want to choose a lash adhesive that matches your lashing speed. The best way to figure out your speed is to time yourself. Have someone set a timer and track the time it takes to dip your lash extension in glue, apply it to the natural lash, make sure it’s in place and let go with your lash tweezer.
Let’s say for example that took you 2.8 seconds. You’ll want to select a lash glue that has a 3-4 second dry time. eslashes starter lash glue is the perfect choice for brand new lash technicians.
Now that you’ve learned eyelash application techniques and are starting to gain some speed in your application, it may be time to upgrade your glue. Once again, you’ll want to time yourself. If you’re applying a lash extension between 1-2 seconds, eslashes Rapid Lash Adhesive is a great choice.
Your lash skill levels are top-notch and you’re applying lashes at the speed of light. The only problem is, the lash glue can no longer keep up with your speed. This leaves you with tons of lash “stickies” since the eyelash glue isn’t drying fast enough. Try a lash glue with a .5 second dry time, such as the eslashes Expert Lash glue.
There are lash glues for sensitive eyes out there, and although they can help slightly, clients are often sensitive to the main ingredient in professional lash glues – cyanoacrylate. If your clients are sensitive to the black pigment in lash adhesive, try looking for a clear eyelash extension glue. It really is trial and error as each client is different and may have sensitivities to different things.
Using a lash superbonder at the end of a lash service is one of the best things for clients with sensitive eyes. It cures the lash glue which reduces the fumes that often cause eye sensitivity. eslashes Superbonder works with ANY and all professional lash glues, and one little bottle goes such a long way.
Once the bottle has been opened, it will last for 4 weeks. Pro tip: use a sharpie to write down the date you opened it right on the bottle. That way you’ll know when it’s time to chuck it.
Don’t be afraid to change up your glue to accommodate the changes in seasons. At the end of the day, the best professional eyelash extension glue is the one that works best for you!
It’s also super important to keep track of the temperature and humidity in your lash room. The room should match the recommendation given by the lash glue you are using. Each lash glue will have a bit of a different ideal temp and humidity. Using a humidifier or dehumidifier can help you get the climate just right.
Try finding a professional lash extension glue that works with your local climate. For example: if you live in Miami, try finding an eyelash glue for high humidity. If you live in Las Vegas, look for a professional lash adhesive that works in lower humidity. Note: It’s also a lot easier to control the temperature and humidity in a smaller space.
Lash glue dries using moisture in the air.
Remember that if you’re a classic artist, but in volume lash training, your speed may once again be a bit slower. The eyelash glue will need to be adjusted accordingly.
Lash extension glue can be both our best friend and our worst enemy. On the one hand, when lash glue is working properly it makes your job easier and your client's lashes last longer. On the other hand, it can cause poor retention, and unnecessary stress when it’s not. One thing’s for sure, as lash artists we simply can’t live without it. Here is a full guide on how to care for your lash extension glue. Let’s get that glue working FOR you not against you!
