You might be wondering, how can I increase Eyelash Extension Application speed without sacrificing quality? In this article we’ll be going over 10 ways that you can reduce your lash application time, and get those eyelash extensions on faster without sacrificing quality.
Set aside 15 minutes at the start and end of each day to prepare for upcoming clients. Every little thing you can do to organize ahead of time will save time. Have your tools cleaned and laid out, pull out the extensions you’ll need for each client etc.
Take some time to analyze your system and where everything is located. Is it easily accessible? Could it be closer to the lash bed and save you time? Having a lash cart is something I highly recommend to keep organized during Eyelash Extension Application. Rather than constantly getting up to grab supplies, the cart can be wheeled from side to side in a flash.
Save time on each lash extension appointment by having the client show up with squeaky clean lashes. Performing a lash bath on your clients adds quite a bit of extra time to the service. You can even set up a lash washing station for your client’s so they can scrub them right before the appointment.
Make sure clients know to use the washroom beforehand. Taking a washroom break during the middle of an appointment takes away a lot of precious lashing time during lash application.
Make your lashing room a sanctuary. If you work from home, let others know not to interrupt you during your application time. The same goes for your clients. Phone calls and texting will have to wait until after the appointment in order to save time.
Isolating quickly and properly can cut down a lot of time during eyelash extension application. Lash technicians often spend a lot of time just filing through the lashes looking for the perfect one.
All the seconds spent filing add up throughout the course of the appointment. Practice isolating on a mannequin head or a friend/family member with the intention of increasing your speed and lash application. A little practice every week goes a long way.
Use taping techniques to make isolating faster and easier. Tape for layers, inner corners, outer corners and straight lashes.
If one lash isn’t working for you, move on to the next one. I’ve seen a lot of lash technicians find the “perfect” lash and spend too much time on it when it’s just not happening. Move on to another lash and come back to that one later.
A proper chair and setup can make all the difference. Getting up constantly, and moving around in an attempt to get comfortable can take up a lot of time. Make sure you are comfortable and have good posture.
Using premade fans or easy fan lashes can help save so much time during volume lash sets. Making handmade fans is super time consuming and can be frustrating at times. Premades or easy fans are a great way to save time while learning how to make fans on your own. They can even be mixed in combination with handmade fans to speed up a volume lash set.
If you’re new to the lash game, your speed may be slower than you’d like. But don’t give up! No one is born a professional lash artist, and no one is applying a full set of volumes in 2 hours on the first try.
It can take anywhere from 2-6 months to get faster at lashing while still applying quality sets. This depends on whether you are doing it full time or part time and also varies from person to person.
Remember, no one is perfect but practice makes PROGRESS! And that’s all we can really ask for at the end of the day. Keep going, keep practicing and your eyelash extension application and speed will improve over time.
