Premade fans have been receiving a lot of attention in the lash industry. Good, bad and everything in between! In this article we’ll be going over the difference between different premade lash fans, and whether or not they are worth it.
First, there are two types of premade fans: heat bonded and glue bonded.
Heat bonded premade fans have their bases sealed together using a precise amount of heat. We only sell heat bonded premade fans at eslashes because they are safest for the client. They also tend to have slimmer, sharper bases which results in a better, more stream line appearance. Chunky thick bases can look messy, and be uncomfortable for the client.
Fans that are glue bonded have the extra weight of glue in the fan. The premade fan will still need to be dipped in lash glue which results in double the amount of lash glue being used. This excess weight can cause stress and damage to the natural lash, so it's best to stick with heat bonded fans.

Now that we know the difference between the two, we can go over if premade lash fans are worth it.
Premade fans are more expensive than handmade fans. A tray of regular volume lashes can make hundreds upon hundreds of handmade fans. One volume lash tray can lash anywhere from 6-12 clients whereas a large tray of premade fans will lash only a few clients.
Although regular volume trays seem a lot more cost effective than premade fans, we also need to consider time. After all, time is money! Using premade fans can cut volume lashing time in half, especially for beginners.
Example: if a volume set took 3 hours, it could be cut down to 1.5 hours with the help of premade fans. That means you can take double the clients in one day!
Premade lash fans can be used in combination with handmade volume fans as a time saver. There are days when lash fans are just harder to make, clients are in a rush etc. it’s great to have some premade fans on hand to help save time, or to save you during a lash emergency. Premade fans are also perfect for beginners that are new to volume lasing.
Although premade fans do not wrap the natural lash, they can still have great retention just like a classic lash. A handmade fan that has been correctly wrapped around the natural lash will provide the best retention.
At the end of the day they are totally worth it in my opinion, since they save time, money and stress. They are also a great way to help build confidence for beginner lash artists!
